The company was founded in 1968 by Jack Howard, his son Richard Howard took over in 1989 and now is in the hands of Ben & Gemma Howard since 2014.Effingham Steel, founded in 1968, has been owned by the Howard family for 3 generations. With over 50 years of experience we have built a reputation as a preferred quality approved hire-worker to the Steel Industry, providing steel rectification services by automatic grinding and cold sawing.
Through our consistently high standard of service, continued high level of investment and unrivalled experience in our field, we have a client base, which consists of some of the world’s leading steel and alloy producers and stockholders. Our customers’ supply products to various industries including; Aerospace, Nuclear, Ministry of Defence, Oil and Gas, as well as Automotive.

Grinding
Specialists in automatic grinding of bulk steel and metallic material, we have three automatic grinding machines which can reduce surface defects and flaws with minimal yield loss.
Sawing
Effingham Steel Services has made significant investment in sawing facilities which has allowed us to be the only contractor in the area capable of sawing up to 1300 mm square or round section.
Haulage
Effingham Steel Services provides a haulage service at competitive prices up to 28.5 tonne capacity on our own vehicles.
